Cochin, India videos

Lets test these videos from Cochin! Ferry from Ernakulam to Vypeen.

Erard Museum in Nice

Today, we're going to take a trip to the Old Town of Nice!

Here's what I discovered...a free museum with an exhibition of Erard, the inventor of the modern harp!
All kinds of interesting antique instruments:

The Basset Horn!
Lyre Guitars
Some awesome ceilings

A nicely desigmed harpsichord with a tapestry behind it...

An old pharmacy that was in the same building. More info on the second picture!
Hope you enjoyed this! Keep checking in!

St. Tropez

St. Tropez- Home of yachts, fish markets, art galleries, and the renowned VIP Room.

I regret that I did not take a picture of the wall on the side, picturing all the Hollywood stars who have partied in this seaside Provencal town. Perhaps inside you can see the dance floor which Lindsay Lohan once stumbled across in a drunken stupor :P

Some nice sculptures in proximity to the museum and the fish market. They surround the marina filled with yachts of multi-millionaires (if not billionaires) as shown earlier.

Not too surprising that you would see the Chanel mansion here as well. The tour guides rumored that on the very day I visited, Paris Hilton, Shaq, and Denzel Washington were visiting as well! I didn't catch any of them, perhaps they were enjoying some time in their yacht until hitting the VIP Room for some nightlife.

As you can see, St. Tropez is rich with music festivals as well. Perhaps not as many as Nice, but still impressive.

Maybe I forgot to mention that I like art and art galleries :D. These paintings could be found all around St. Tropez.
Well that's it for today! Hope you enjoyed it! All I could say is that I hope to see St. Tropez on a clearer day, and be able to stay late enough to enjoy the nightlife. Bon Voyage!

Pre-revolution Egyptian adventures

A political poster on the walls of Cairo (IIRC).
I'm pretty sure this was a telecommunications building. Unfortunately there is glare from the bus window!

Cinque Terre

Hello all! One amazing adventure I went on was to the Cinque Terre (lit. Five Lands) in northern Italy. I had heard of this national park (protected from the emissions of most types of automobiles) for years, but I had only been close to it on two occassions. My ships docked in La Spezia solely because of the incidental problems with docking in Livorno (such as weather, or strikes). However, I decided to make a trip out with a friend all the way from Livorno, which adds about another hour to this excursion.
Seen above is the first train stop from La Spezia into the Cinque Terre, Riomaggiore. The only transportation other than this is by boat or eco-friendly bus.

Some nice murals on the wall.
A glimpse of Riomaggiore itself.
Forested hills with terrace irrigation at the top, along with the beautiful coast seen below.

Some great diving potential here as well.
A nice map of this part of the Cinque Terre...complete with graffiti!
 En route to Manarolla!

Some great shops and restaurants in Manarolla.
